beef gelatin | Use cowhide pig skin to make gelatin to make money

Before the Spring Festival, especially when the Spring Festival is approaching, killing cattle and pigs in the countryside is busy. But no one can eat beef and pork with skin on. The peeled cowhide and pig skin can be sold directly if the purchase price is reasonable; if selling the skin is not economical, other ways of utilization can be taken, such as processing gelatin, which is a good way. Gelatin has a wide range of uses in food, medicine and other industries. The following introduces a simple method suitable for township enterprises and rural self-employed to make gelatin.
Raw material processing. Clean the skins of cattle, pigs and other livestock, scrape off the fat layer, divide them into 3 cm × 3 cm pieces, place them in a large container, soak them in 1% lime water for 24 hours, and then wash off the dirt and Fat, soak in lime water. At this time, the PH value of the leather is between 12 and 12.5, and then repeatedly soaked and washed to reduce the PH value to between 9 and 9.5. At this time, neutralize with acid, stir constantly, and then adjust the PH value to 2.5-3.5 with dilute hydrochloric acid.
Boil glue. Put 60℃ hot water in a big pot, put the soaked scraps into the hot water pot, slowly increase the temperature of the stove, boil it within 4 to 5 hours, and keep stirring to avoid burning the bottom of the pot. After all the hulls are boiled into a glue with a moderate concentration, the fire is removed, activated carbon is added as a filter aid in the thin glue, and then filtered with a sieve to obtain a clear glue.
The product is concentrated. The obtained glue liquid is put in a copper pot, heated with water, and concentrated into a caramel-like thick liquid. Pour the thick liquid into a smooth slate or enamel dish. After the thick liquid has solidified, use a knife to cut it into small pieces of uniform size. After it has dried, it will be gelatin.
